Discover Yilgarnia Wines
A Taste of Western Australia
When you visit Barrel Farm, the wine you’re enjoying isn’t just any local drop — it’s part of a story rooted right here in Western Australia and linked to Barrel Farm
Yilgarnia Wines is all about showcasing the unique landscapes and climate of the region, creating wines that are approachable, expressive, and made to be enjoyed with good food and great company.
Where It All Began
Yilgarnia Wines was founded by Peter and Peg Buxton, who have been farming in Denmark for over fifty years. Today, their son Anthony carries things forward as Chief Viticulturist and Winemaker.
Now with Barrel Farm as the cellar door, the focus remains the same — producing quality red and white wines, along with handcrafted méthode champenoise sparkling wines in red, white and rosé.
All wines are grown and produced on the original Buxton family farm, making Yilgarnia a true single vineyard estate.
Wine Made for the Moment
At its core, Yilgarnia is about wine that fits into real life.
The kind you open over a long lunch.
The kind you share with friends.
The kind that doesn’t need a special occasion.
Whether you’re sitting outside in the sun or settling in for an afternoon that turns into evening, these are wines designed to be enjoyed, not overthought.
